"Amazing writing! [Your] craft is fabulous, the characters leap off the page, [and your] pacing is spot-on!" - Deborah Coonts, author of the "Lucky O'Toole Las Vegas Adventure" Series.
"I absolutely loved the witty, elegant thriller, SPIDER’S DANCE. Chock-full of fascinating characters, SPIDER’S DANCE thrusts the reader into the high stakes world of Big Oil—and an even bigger cover-up. In the aftermath of a devastating environmental disaster, our eminently reliable narrator, Nicholas White, carries us through this suspenseful tale with a combination of fearlessness and panache. Nicholas is a man you can trust, written by an author who has been there. Throw in a sunken World War II submarine and a high-stakes international scam of harrowing proportions, and you’ve got a corker!" —J. Carson Black, Best-selling Author of ICON and THE SHOP.
“What a fun read! The most striking thing about Will Graham’s prose is the humor behind it; if you like your mysteries and thrillers filled with wit, look no further. As a page-turner, SPIDER’S DANCE succeeds by weaving a web of an irresistible story. As entertainment, it is pure pleasure.” - Raymond Benson, author of THE BLACK STILETTO
The worst environmental disaster of the millennium leads computer security and forensics consultant Nicholas White into a labyrinth of intrigue and danger, a mystery with roots going back to World War Two.
When an oil rig explodes in the Gulf of Mexico, the company Nicholas works for is held responsible for the catastrophe. Spider Dance The Director Cut edition by Will Graham Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
Because the synopsis and the cover caught my attention, I stepped out of my box, gave this suspense/thriller a chance and I'm so glad I did.Nicholas White is at the top of a profession not many of us are familiar with but through his POV, we follow his journey from finding a dead colleague to bigger events that require his unique skills and experience.
Even though this modern day hero is surrounded by technology, he hasn't lost his humanity and lucky for the reader, his humor is still well intact.
Through it all, he never loses his passion for his work and because of an intelligent, easy on the eyes investigator, he finds a reason to fight his solitude.
It isn't easy to weave a backstory that shapes who the character is and is intriguing enough to stay invested without losing the pace of the story; Mr. Graham gets this right.
This story touches on all the elements we love; a good mystery with international intrigue, ties to historical events, greed and a little bit of romance.
This author doesn't shy away from a realistic tone.
There are moments worthy of a good fist-bump and others that will shatter your heart.
The writing is flawless and the story, riveting until the end.
Highly recommend.

Spider Dance The Director Cut edition by Will Graham Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
When a murder is followed by an explosion, you think it probably isn't a coincidence. When an agent from Interpol shows up immediately to investigate, you're sure. This is no local problem.
As the mystery unravels piece by piece, you'll get more and more involved. Subtle twists will have you guessing wrong every time and then as the truths are revealed, you say, "Oh sure. I should have seen that."
I don't want to reveal more about the plot because it's so much fun to read. It would be a crime to give it away. I'm convinced only a cyber-investigator who has lived and worked with the FBI could have written something so true to that lifestyle.
You'll love the laugh out loud inner thoughts of the usually silent and taciturn Nicolas White that are often contradictory to his speech.
This is the best thriller I've read all year.
I had this book a while before I started it and am sorry I waited so long to read it. Reasons I liked this book in no particular order
1. Realistically written. The situations felt like they could really happen.
2. The main character had a great sense of humor and was very likable. In fact, all the characters were very well drawn.
3. The setup was fascinating. A murder and an explosion--who could ask for more?
4. The book had an insider's feel. I felt like I was getting an inside perspective on how the corporate world within the oil industry works. The author's extensive knowledge of electronic forensics comes through but does not overpower the story at all.
5. The author's use of history to drive present motivations really gave the story a deeper meaning (for me, anyway).
This is a really engrossing read. Don't pass it up.
Very well written. Will Graham's protagonist is an interesting take. He is just a regular guy, intelligent and exceptional in his work, who enjoys the things we all do. His fiction like that of Andrew Vachss, has a strong element of truth, it brings through the fiction the message we do not care the way we should for our children. Graham's hero however is a regular Joe, thrust into the horror of those who hurt children for pleasure and profit. We also share his pain through personal tragedy. The weaving of several plots in this book works well, it makes the characters that much more real. I am looking forward to reading more about Nicholas.
There have been times that I have set a book down for various reasons - wanted a new genre for a little bit, got bored with it, a new book came out that I wanted to read immediately, and numerous other reasons. ‘Spider’s Dance’ (The Director’s Cut) is the first time I’ve ever set a book aside because I had to get away from it, catch my breath, clear my head, speak to someone, come back to the real world. Some may think I’m silly, I mean after all, it’s just a thriller like so many others out there, right? Wrong.
Will Graham was told when he first published ‘Spider’s Dance’ to leave out the backstory, and this makes for the best argument ever for self-publishing. The backstory is what sets this thriller apart from all the others, and it will leave you reeling. Those of you who know that my reviews don’t involve the plot know that I am not going to go into the “why” it will have the effect on you that it does, but if you have even an ounce of humanity in you, then you will find yourself to be different after reading this one.
The book essentially has two different stories. The main one is a great thriller, and clearly Mr. Graham knows what he is writing about. It is a wonderful tale with some fun, plenty of tech information, and interesting characters that will have you laughing aloud, cheering, and at times holding your breath. If that were all this book was, I would still likely give it a 3 or 4 star rating. However, just being a thriller is far from what the ‘Director’s Cut’ is all about…
From almost the first moment that you meet the main character Nicholas White, Mr. Graham subtly lets you know that there is a tragic event in his past, and eventually works his way into weaving a story that you will never forget. While the main story is told first-person, the flashbacks (background story) are told third-person, Mr. Graham making sure you clearly know from the first sentence that this is going to be a different story, one that can stand on it’s own, and he allows you to begin to understand Nicholas and why he behaves as he does, has the respect of the authorities around him, and has the knowledge to lead him on the thrill ride that is the main story. What Mr. Graham does that I have never encountered before is writes in a way that, honestly is hard to describe…he informs you of things you may not want to know about the world, his pacing is perfect, and his style during a horrific (yes, horrific) interrogation turned confession is like nothing I’ve ever encountered. A cold glass of water was desperately needed afterwards. It doesn’t end there, as there are clues to what the tragedy that Nicholas has encountered are given. I dare say that some readers may stop reading ‘Spider’s Dance’ knowing what is coming…and that would be a tragedy. Mr. Graham makes you want to read, makes you want to know (even though in the back of your mind you already know the horror that is coming), takes you into an almost perfect world and then simply crushes that world, crushes the characters, and will crush you the reader…and yet you can’t turn away from it (like a masterful film director taking you on a ride that, even though you know the outcome, you simply can’t and will refuse to get off of…knowing the ending is going to leave you stunned and shocked, you still want to watch/read).
This book will change you, your perception of the world around you, and you will finish this book immediately adding it to the small number of “must reads” that you tell your friends about. Perhaps this is different for me than other readers. I’m in a place where happiness has finally found me, and the love that I feel for my girlfriend’s 6-year old daughter, combined with having my girl at 12 and my girlfriend’s other daughter at 12, has affected the way that I read this book. I don’t want to even imagine going through the hell these characters face. Period. This is an eye-opening work, one that will make you want to, well…I guess it depends on your humanity…and what you think about in that time between the last page of ‘Spider’s Dance’ and the next book you pick up.
