The official satire of the 2016 U.S. Presidential election.

See why readers are saying, "Terrific"  "Loved this"  A must read"   "A home run"

Two candidates no one wants to vote for.
An election the students want to forget about.
A story everyone can identify with.

United Exceptionalism is known far and wide as being the greatest prep school. In recent years, however, it has begun to suffer, and its problems fall on the shoulders of the senior class president. The school desperately needs someone who will offer solutions. Instead, the students find themselves having to choose between two kids who are widely disliked and constantly surrounded in scandal. It will be a year that no one at United Exceptionalism will ever forget.

The Faulty Process of Electing a Senior Class President is satire based on the recent Presidential election. It combines the political allegory of Orwell with the dark humor of Vonnegut. It is not a partisan book against any one candidate or political party. Rather, it is a call to change a system that keeps offering bad choices. It is also a reminder that no matter how old you are you should expect better from your leaders.

The Faulty Process of Electing a Senior Class President edition by Chris Dietzel Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Yes, this is exactly how our country ended up in the mess we're in.
It got to where I just couldn't stand the likeness anymore and I had to stop to preserve my sanity.
The writing was good. The topic...not so much. I didn't need this reminder of the last months. Still watching the real thing play out. Sad!
This was a pretty fun read, I thought all the names were clever and the author did a pretty good job transferring all the political stuff of the 2016 election to a high school
Nailed it!

If you honestly want to know "What Happened" this book is the one to read.
The Faulty Process of Electing a Senior Class President, by CHris Dietzel, hearkens back to the days when social commentary and cautionary tales comprised some of the best of science fiction and fantasy. Now those books are sometimes called Speculative Fiction. Whatever you wish to call this sort of tale, there have been far too few quality examples in the last dozen years. Chris Dietzel, a writer who often shows his teeth, has written one that I predict will find a wide readership "The Faulty Process of Electing a Senior Class President" and yes, it's a long title for this tale, which is a story with which many will resonate about corruption bring in its own downfall.
Good science fictional/fantastic satire goes back to the days of Mark Twain in this country, and far further in others. Celebrate a return to that tradition with Dietzel's new book. If you like Orwellian tales, if you enjoyed Vonnegut, or even if current-day politics make you think you've fallen through the looking glass into a world of "alternative facts," this book is for you. And that's an actual fact, not alternative in any way.
This book reminded me so much of the horror of the 2016 US election, as it was a thoughtful fiction version of it. It's a must-read in this post-truth and "alternative facts" time that we're living in.
This book is an excellent parody/satire of the last presidential election. The Reformist candidate (Clinton) has the support of the press and enjoys the assumption of victory. However, she is inherently untrustworthy. The Traditionalist candidate (Trump) is an unqualified misogynistic boor. There is name calling and character assassination by both parties and even an email scandal.

An upstart Reformist candidate (Sanders) is extremely popular and has great ideas, but for a variety of reasons is unelectable.

After the primaries (also mocked) the student body wonders how it could be possible that these are the two candidates that they ended up with.

No matter who wins, the school/country loses.
